Rabdosia/Dong Ling Cao
For decades, Rabdosia Rubescens – aka Dong Ling Cao or Bing Ling Cao or blushred rabdosia – has been used by practitioners of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) for its many beneficial health properties. The bitter, sweet and slightly cold herb has been used in TCM to treat various health conditions such as cancers of esophagus, prostate, breast and liver, swelling of throat, insect bites, snake bites, inflammation of the tonsils, etc. As it clears heat and toxins, it nourishes yin, removes blood stasis and relieves swelling and pain, by enhancing the functions of stomach, lung and liver channels.
The mechanism of action is seen through its promotion of apoptosis or "killing" of cancerous cells. Rabdosia has also been noted in published research by the American Cancer Society as enhancing chemotherapy effectiveness as a stand-alone, providing minimal toxicity and no reported hormonal side effects, which are typical concerns in conventional cancer therapies used today. Rabdosia is not intended to replace medical treatment, however efficacy, especially in early stages of these diseases, has been well-established in scientific literature of animal and in vitro studies.
Additional clinical research revealed Rabdosia's effectiveness in the treatment of gingivitis as well as strep throat/pharyngitis. Rabdosia has been shown to strengthen the immune system of cancer-bearing animals and improve appetite and reduce pain for sick patients. This herb can relax smooth muscles and has antispasmodic, anti-inflammatory, and analgesic properties. Its essential oil is also antibacterial.
Green Tea Powder
Green Tea Powder (Matcha) is a finely ground powder of green tea leaves, shade-grown and dried in a special way. A single serving of green tea powder has 137 times the antioxidants and the nutritional equivalent of 10 cups of brewed green tea. It is one of nature's most powerful antioxidants which prevent aging and chronic disease. Matcha tea contains a uniquely potent class of antioxidant called catechins. Of those, EGCg (Epigallocatechingallate) has been found in 60% of the catechins of Matcha. This catechin has been shown to be most effective in its cancer-fighting and health-enhancing properties which counteract the effects of free radicals like UV rays, radiation, and pollution, which can lead to cell and DNA damage. Resveratrol
Resveratrol is naturally found in great concentrations in the skin of red grapes (red wine), blueberries and dark chocolate. In plants, the compound phytoalexin acts as part of the plant's immune/defense system against invading fungi. In humans, phytoalexin works as a most potent antioxidant: a compound which scavenges free radicals before they can do damage to your cells' DNA. This prevention of oxidation is resveratrol's most well-known effect and is the reason for it being called an "anti-aging" supplement. Additionally, it been documented to elevate HDL ("Good Cholesterol") while lowering LDL ("Bad Cholesterol") and reduce inflammation throughout the body, particularly in the blood vessels – a contributing factor in coronary heart disease (CHD).
Furthermore, some animal studies show cumulative evidence of resveratrol demonstrating anti-cancer properties, stating that this beneficial nutrient inhibits cellular events associated with tumor initiation, promotion and progression.
Rutin
Rutin, also called rutoside or Vitamin P, is a bioflavonoid found in apples, figs, citrus fruits and asparagus. Though it is well known for its beneficial effects in reducing pain, improving functionality in patients with osteoarthritis and reducing swelling post-surgery, Rutin – of all the flavonoids – has the most potent anti-cancer properties, showing significant reduction on tumor size in independent studies, especially in colorectal and lung cancer.
